Multnomah Playschool (MPS) is a parent-cooperative preschool for children ages 3 through Pre-K. MPS seeks to provide a safe, healthful, developmentally appropriate environment for children to explore their growing sense of self and understanding of the world. Incorporated into our play-based curriculum is an emphasis on social anti-bias, understanding and acceptance of diversity. In our program children learn to get along with others, exercise their developing gross and fine motor skills, communicate verbally and explore creative materials. Abundant opportunities for self-expression are offered. Outdoor play is integral to our daily curriculum. Multnomah Playschool has the distinction of being the first co-op in Oregon to earn accreditation from the National Association of Education for Young Children (NAEYC). This accreditation is acheived by less than ten percent of preschools nationwide. Child Magazine named Multnomah Playschool to their list of "Top 10 Preschools in the United States" in 1993.
